Flag Art

In the art we did a flag. On the flag we each get to do what ever design we want .

This is a photo of my flag.  For this piece of work I had to tape shapes of rectangle or square.

I found this straight forward because it is just taping.

Next time I could do more interesting designs for my flag.

Screencast Inference movie clip

In reading I have done inferencing.

This is a video of my inferencing skills.  For this piece of work I had to learn what is the
connection between the author and the story.

I found this straight forward and a little hard because I not really good at inferencing.

Easy as soon as I understood what was the story.

Next time I could do the inference much faster and make sure that my connection was correct
before I click on the answer.

Math Angles

In maths I have been working on Geometry - measuring Angles.

I have done a Hexagon matching puzzle, Name angle measuring art, Protractor golf, and a beginners measuring angles activity.

This is a photo of my name angle art.  For this piece of work I had to write my names using a ruler, and using straight lines.  

Then we had to measure the all the angles in our name using protractors.

I found this

tricky because sometimes there were so many angles to measure it got confusing.

tricky because most of the angles that were right angles but some were off by 2 degrees.

Easy to rule my name.

Easy as soon as I understood how to measure angles using the protractor.

Next time I could try to make the lines even and make the S to the line.

Why you should not use plastic bags

My Reflection:
I am learning to say/write a persuasive speech. I found this work very stressful because I'm bad at writing. The thing that I hate is that it has to be long enough and detailed.

Kensukes Kingdom

My Reflection:
I am learning to animate a map of Kensukes kingdom of where Michael has been. I found this work very interesting because I never actually did such a cool activity. I think this has been the best work I done all year because you can animate it how ever you want. Here is the finish work!

Mixed and Improper Fraction

I was learning about Mixed and Improper Fraction. We had to explain so that a year 4 student can understand what is a Improper fraction.

I am learning to screencast my maths work. This activity was for some people and here is the finish work. I have enjoy the part when you are actually doing the work.

How to draw a heart-faced dog

My Reflection:
I am learning to explain how to draw a heart-faced dog. I found this work hard because the drawer has to understand what am I talking about. The thing that I could work on is that maybe I could use more words to describe how to draw the ears.

Welcome Post 2.0 2018

Welcome back to my learning blog for 2018. This half of the year, my teacher is Mrs Graham.
This is the things that I am looking forward to the most:
I am really looking forward to Camp, disco, the end of year graduation and the trip to Farm Cove Intermediate.
One thing I hope for my new class is that we would get along with each other.

This is my showcase work. I am learning to write facts about Midway Island. I found this hard because I don't really know about Midway Island.

My Reflection:
This is my showcase work. I am learning to write facts about a kind of plastic. I found this straightforward. The hardest part was to draw the pictures and write facts in them. My next step is to put in more detail on the poster. In my plastic work, I am learning to write facts about the kind of plastic. I found this manage because its interesting and simple to draw and write.

Place Value

My Reflection:
This is my maths work. I am learning to do Place Value and compare numbers. I found this concept easy. The thing that help me most to understand is the word on the top of each box. My next step is to do something harder. In my work,  I am learning to do  Place Value and compare numbers. I found this simple because is easy for me to understand.

Inference 2.0 (term2)

My Reflection:
This is my reading work. I am learning how to inference the question that they are asking. I found this concept straightforward. The thing that helped me most to understand was trying to use connections to figured out the answer. The hardest part was that some of the questions, were hard and I need guess some of them. My next step is work more challenging ones but not very hard ones that I couldn't understand.

Basic Facts(all times tables)

My Reflection:
I am learning/practicing how to do my basic facts for the basic fact a thon. I found this work hard and interesting because I was trying to remember my multiplication. One thing I did well is that I could still remember some of my basic facts. One thing I could do better is that maybe do more because I feel like I need to challenge myself more. Overall I thought that I did well practising/learning. 

Inference

My Reflection:
I am learning how inference something for the question on the paper. I found this work interesting and hard because I was trying to inference in the question. One thing I could do better is that maybe I could work on doing more inferencing next time. One thing I did well is that I was trying my best to do the inference. Overall I thought I did well in this activity.`

The trip to Mount Ruapehu

My Reflection:
I am learning to write a story about a Avalanche happening. I found this work interesting and hard trying to think of what to write the interesting part is that I never learn anything about a Avalanche before. One thing I did well is that I remember to put it into paragraphs and full stops and capital letters. One thing that I could do better is that maybe next time do a longer story. Overall I thought I did well in this writing because it was about Mount Ruapehu and I have been there so I kind of know what it looks like. 

Basic Facts 11 times table

My Reflection:
I am learning how to do 11x table. I found this work challenging and hard because I don't really remember all of them but I tried to remember some of them. One thing I did well is that I still remember some of the times table. One thing I could do better is that I could work on doing something harder next time. Overall i thought I did well in this task because I still remember some task.

Maintenance

My Reflection:
I am learning about how to do Maintenance. I found this work interesting because I never done this before and it's like basic facts. One thing I did well is that I knew my times table and my division but I couldn't put it in my document. One thing I could do better is that maybe I could challenge myself more next time I do Maintenance. Overall I thought that I did well in this Maintenance activity.

Saving Our Planet From Plastics

My Reflection:
I am learning how to write a persuasive writing about Plastics. I found this work interesting and little hard because is hard to research the facts that has to be on topic. One thing I did well is that I remember to write it in paragraphs and remembering my full stops and commas. One thing I could work on is that maybe I could write down more things about how people can reduce, reuse and recycle. Overall I thought I did well in this persuasive writing.

Charlottes Web- Spider in a web

My Reflection:

I am learning how to draw a realistic spider with a spider web. I found this work interesting and hard because some legs of the spider is sharp and skinny. One thing I did well is I drew the spider that I did not expected because I thought it will be horrible. One thing I could do better next time I draw a spider is that I could add shadow underneath the spider.

Fantasy Writing

My Refection:
I am learning to write a fantasy writing. I found this work interesting and hard because it was tricky to find the perfect name for my character. One thing I did well is that I gave the writing more interesting that I  expected.One thing i could do better is maybe that next time I can add more characters into my story. Overall I thought that I did well in this writing because the main I wrote that she is brave enough to help a friend in need.

My Reflection:
I am learning to summarise less than a hundred words. I found this work interesting and challenging because I never done this before. One I did well is that I summarise some of the words but next time 
One thing I could better is maybe next time I could summarise more words. Overall I thought I did well in this task in Charlottes Web.
